General Discussion / Re: That’s a Wrap (for 2010)
« on: January 03, 2011, 04:35:44 am »

Thank’s for another interesting year of HECP for all of my opponents and happy new year :) ! This is indeed enjoyable and one of the most developing way to improve poker skills. Doubles and duplicate poker formats would be nice adds to site. Some easier minor improvements would be the possibility to sort Hand history (by clicking column head line or search) based for certain player or pot size  etc. I would like to check my past hands against hjort who whipped most of my pokerass past year. This type of poker certainly would be a breakthrough internationally. But I”ll certainly understand the lack of spare time Teppo :). If someone capable would have some spare time more, it would be great to if he/she could help Teppo coding several addons when he’s basicly managing this great site singlehandedly. Any CP T-shirts yet on markets :) ?

General Discussion / Holiday break
« on: June 13, 2010, 09:24:03 am »

Hi

I’m going to be on summer holiday a week or two totally absent from computers/smart phones so I’m beginning to sitout my tables. Thanks for my opponents sharing many exciting hands and showing weaknesses in my playing style, which I will try to correct in the future. I’ll be back :)

Strategy Discussion / Re: Heads-Up PLO (by Brandon Adams)
« on: June 04, 2010, 04:03:11 am »
In other news, whatever happened to that john_deer fellow?!  :P

Hjort seems to be on/off player though he was quite dominant anyway in both games so maybe he got bored of "mediocre" opposition :).

And to make it yet more complicated – more experienced PLO player might try a bluff if he/she thinks that opponent knows that usually people play connected cards and can’t bluff here without having 8 or 7 :).

I think you played fine, Richie got very lucky by hitting 5 outer on turn. He could have easily had pair of 33 or 88 as well, so there wasn’t much to do when the river came else than go with showdown. Certainly scary nut peddler could have folded in the turn or river card , but that’s too tight imho for HU PLO.

EDIT: pair of 33 (AK33 etc.) pair of 88 (AK88 etc.)

EDIT2: Actually I dont’ know what am I talking about here :) with those examples but bottom line was that it was bad luck and pretty much about what Smokin said about value ranges. It would have been strange bluff because people are playing mostly with more connected cards than unconnected so river A, Q or or J would have been an easier fold, than 8 or 7.

Beta Test Forum / my stats in shorter time periods
« on: March 21, 2010, 10:10:13 am »

Hi

Would it be possible to implement my stats (summary, detail, profit) in shorter periods of time (week, month etc.) in addition with this all hands feature ? It would be then easier to check how have certain adjustments in strategy worked against certain players or all players during shorter period of time like week, month etc.

Any news yet when PLO is coming :) ?

Strategy Discussion / Smokin Al
« on: February 08, 2010, 01:59:50 pm »

Have to give SmokinAl credit for outstanding way of disguising hands. From most of players I have a good guess what they’ll have but I’ll never know what’s smokin is holding. Haven’t been able to calibrate my strategy against Al, though I might now have some ideas :)

Ugh, ugly stats for me. You’ve had incredible hit of cards which have deepened my misery and I have tried to catch you but alas things doesn’t look good. Funny though I’m slightly winning shakathewalls. I’ve enjoyed very much playing with hjort, Teppo, SmokinAl, shaka and Onlyonemove. I will draw you someday :). Though maybe I should also adjust more my strategy I’m certainly folding too much from SB position preflop. Thanks for stats.

General Discussion / Re: End of the Year Tournament?
« on: December 16, 2009, 03:35:54 am »
Hi, sure it would be nice to play with you guys. I prefer that date of the tournament would be after new year if possible when I’m at home again. Other interesting detail would be the exact time of the tournament when we have people playing around the world in different time zones like in Finland, UK and USA. Any players from some other countries ?

Strategy Discussion / Re: Strategy Video coming out soon!
« on: November 26, 2009, 09:16:02 am »

I just watched your videos and actually I would have played most of the hands same way like you did. Very reasonable poker playing. I might do a video also, not because of my performance which has been a rollercoaster ride lately :) but to show some examples of probably more aggressive play/opponents. It’s very educational to know what kind of thought processes are going in various excellent poker minds on this site.
